terms & refunds

The short version: you can change your mind within 14 days of buying and get your money back. And separately, if you take part in week one, make the first project and it isn't for you, we'll refund you in full up to 26 October. No justifying, no awkwardness. Everything below is the same thing said properly.
1. Who you're buying from
Gifted is sold by The Making Box Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16722157, registered office 120 Cotham Brow, Basement Flat, Bristol, England, BS6 6AR.

The Making Box Limited is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your purchase.
2. What you're buying
Gifted is a four-week online make-along. Your place includes:
- Six full-length video tutorials — four weekly project tutorials and two bonus tutorials — premiered at a set time each week and available to you afterwards to watch as often as you like
- A live online session each week with Kit
- Access to the participants' group chat
- A welcome pack sent before the start, including a guide to each craft and a materials list
Dates. Gifted runs for four weeks from 19 October 2026. Registration closes 9 October 2026.
What you need. An internet connection and a device to watch on, and your own craft materials. Materials are not included in the price. We'll send a materials list in the welcome pack so you can buy them yourself; most cost is modest and many people already own some of what's needed.
3. Price and payment
The price is £85, or £75 if you buy within the first 48 hours of registration opening. Payment is taken at the time of purchase through our payment provider. Your place is confirmed when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email.
4. Your right to change your mind
Because you're buying online, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of your purchase and receive a full refund, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You don't need to give a reason. Email ed@themakingbox.co.uk and we'll refund you to your original payment method within 14 days of being told.
5. Our week-one promise
Separately from your legal rights above, and more generously: if you take part in week one, make the first project, and it isn't for you, we'll refund you in full.
To claim, email ed@themakingbox.co.uk by 26 October 2026 and tell us you'd like your money back. We won't ask you to justify it, and there'll be no awkwardness about it.
After 26 October we don't offer refunds, because by then you'll have received most of the course. If something has gone genuinely wrong for you — illness, a bereavement, life — talk to us. We'd rather move you to a future round than have you feel stuck.
6. If we have to change or cancel
Occasionally a live session may need to move. If that happens we'll tell you as soon as we can, and the session will be recorded so you don't miss it.
Minimum numbers. Gifted needs a minimum number of participants to run properly as a group. If we don't reach that number, we may cancel before the start date and refund you in full. That's the only circumstance in which we'd cancel, and you'd get every penny back.
7. What you can and can't do with the videos
Your place is for you. You get a personal, non-transferable right to watch the tutorials and use them to make things — including things you give as gifts, or sell in small numbers as a maker.
Please don't share your access links, download and redistribute the videos, or use the material to teach or run a course of your own. The videos remain the property of The Making Box Limited.
8. The group chat
The group chat is there to be a kind and useful place. Be generous with each other. We may remove anyone who is abusive, harassing or persistently unpleasant, without a refund.
9. Safety and suitability
Crafting involves tools and materials that need sensible handling — needles, craft knives, metal sheet with cut edges, and an oven for baking polymer clay. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on everything you buy, and take normal care.
You're responsible for your own safety and for supervising any children taking part with you. You must be 18 or over to buy a place.
10. Your data
We'll use your details to deliver the course and to email you about it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your place.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales.
